More About Them
The information provided here is based on publicly available content from their website (provided above).
Their Goal
The Association of International and European Affairs constitutes a modern zero-budget think tank. AIEA's goal is to provide a platform for young people, students, or graduates from departments such as International Relations, Law, Economics, Medicine, Accounting, Education, and others, allowing them to present their views to the public, as well as participate in workshops, projects, and conferences.
They are an outward-looking think tank, characterized by high member participation in all of the Association's processes, and a scientific foundation for our articles through research. Our Team has the ability to share its activities and publications, whether collective or individual, in a way that legitimately promotes the Association and its objectives. This contributes to the networking of researchers and their engagement with issues related to current international affairs.
The Association of International and European Affairs (AIEA/ΟΔΕΘ) is a modern non-profit youth research initiative. It aims to promote scientific research and public dialogue on issues regarding international and European current affairs, ensuring our articles are scientifically grounded through research.
AIEA was founded in 2014 and, since then, has successfully amplified the voices of young scientists and researchers, contributing to public information and awareness regarding international and European developments.
Their goals are the promotion of scientific research and public dialogue on issues of international and European current affairs, highlighting the voices of young scientists and researchers, and contributing to informing and raising public awareness about international and European developments.
To achieve our goals, AIEA implements a series of initiatives. These include organizing conferences, symposiums, and other scientific events—with the support of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Greece since October 2022—publishing scientific papers and other informational material in electronic format, and creating and maintaining a website alongside other social media channels.
AIEA represents a significant initiative for the promotion of scientific research and public dialogue on issues of international and European current affairs.
Team
Their Team consists of an 11-member Council of Young Scientists with a coordinating and supervisory role, responsible for the outreach and support of the Association's activities, a team of 22 Text Editors, as well as a Social Media Management Team. The entire operation of the team is governed by a code of conduct, and the whole team of analysts and editors operates based on guidelines created by the team itself.
Writers' Responsibilities
Their analysts address issues across six pillars: International & European Law, International & European Economy, History and Culture, Crises & Security Issues, Environment & Energy, and International & European Political Current Affairs. Participation in their Team requires the completion of a specific application form during the application cycles. Following the completion of two trial articles, permanent members are required to prepare one article per quarter, which, once reviewed, is published on our website and on Facebook.
Founding Members of the Association
The initiators of the early concept, the name, and the original logo of the Association are Giannis Piliouras, Giannis Koutroumpis, and Leonidas Asimakopoulos. Together, they promoted, evolved, and developed AIEA, turning their idea into a reality.
Today, a decisive role in the evolution and progress of the Association is played by Leonidas Asimakopoulos, Kalliopi Lennax, Stefania Zourka, Giannis Krompas, Giannis Piliouras, Olga Tsoukala, Thanos Vasilopoulos, Athina Fatsea, Valasis Simitsis, and Andreas Petrousis as members of the Board of Directors, as well as Anna Maria Vougiouka and Panteliana Papamichail on the Social Media team, along with the team of 22 editors.
Partnerships
Collaborations at the level of jointly organizing and coordinating actions are desirable to the extent that the Association's objectives are fulfilled. AIEA collaborates with the organizations listed in the partners section at odeth.eu/partners.
